A Joint NGO Submission Concerning China for Consideration under the Universal Periodic Review by the UN Human Rights Council

The Universal Periodic Review (UPR) is an international human rights mechanism established by the United Nations (UN) General Assembly resolution 60/251 and elaborated in Human Rights Council resolution 5/1.  It serves as a platform to review the human rights records of all UN Member States, where they can declare what actions have been adopted and how these measures could improve the human rights situations in order to fulfil their legal obligations.
China is under the second cycle of the review by the UN Human Rights Council at its 17th session from 21 October to 1 November 2013.  Stakeholders are invited to make submissions on States under review by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR).  Together with the Chinese Working Women Network (CWWN), Globalization Monitor (GM) and Labour Education and Service Network (LESN), Labour Action China (LAC) has submitted a joint contribution concernng the labour rights in China for the consideration by the Human Rights Council.  You can download our joint submission from here.
